LNAA Statement Regarding Teamsters Negotiations

January 1st, 1970 |

The following statement regarding Teamsters negotiations may be attributed to Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director:

“On Monday, October 7th, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) staff represented by Teamsters Union #773 staged a walkout at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE). We are committed to limiting the immediate impact this decision has on air travel and our loyal passengers within the region.

The Airport Authority is extremely disappointed by this premature and premeditated illegal action. In response, the LNAA has obtained a temporary restraining order from Lehigh County Court – prohibiting the union employees from continuing the walkout.

There is still a potential for flight delays, and the LNAA apologizes for any inconvenience.

Since March 2019, the LNAA has negotiated in “good faith” through (12) scheduled sessions, with every intention of solidifying an equitable four-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Medical benefits and pension structure remain the stumbling block.

The Airport Authority has presented (5) proposals to the Teamsters Union that demonstrate our strong belief ensuring LNAA employees receive a high level of compensation, yet it remains suitable for the LNAA’s financial future.“
