69,912 passengers traveled through ABE in February

(Hanover Township, PA) – With a busy spring break travel season fast approaching, Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) remained the takeoff point for many people looking to escape the winter weather.

Last month, 69,912 passengers traveled through ABE – highest total for February since 2020 – and an 8.1% increase from 2023.

“For the first time ever, the airport opened its Overflow Parking Lot during President’s Day weekend. Certainly, the addition of new destinations like Denver and Melbourne (FL) have given the region more options when choosing ABE,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA).

By the numbers, Allegiant increased 17.8%, while American and Delta passenger traffic remained flat. United declined 10.4% from last February.

Concession Renovation

Construction crews have started the mobilization process to build a new bar in the center of the Wilfred M. “Wiley” Post, Jr. Concourse.  Additionally, the concession renovation project will include the arrival of Which Wich® – a delicious grab-n-go alternative for passengers, Zekraft – a local Lehigh Valley café and coffee shop featuring signature meals and coffee drinks, and the redesign of the Airport Gift Shop.

“We’re really excited about providing a more extensive menu of food vendors with great options for passengers,” said Stoudt.
