Sneak “Peep” of a “Goofy” guest at LVIA

8-foot display of cartoon character completely made of colorful PEEPS® marshmallow candy

Allentown, PA – With the busiest travel season in full swing, passengers using Lehigh Valley International Airport are about to meet a “Goofy” looking character in Wiley terminal.

With transportation help from Michael Piechota, on Tuesday, August 16, the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority and Just Born Quality Confections of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania will unveil an 8-foot display of the famous cartoon character which is constructed with thousands of PEEPS® marshmallow Chicks and Bunnies.

“This delicious display enhances our customer experience by creating a unique sight for travelers at LVIA, while promoting local business,” said Charles Everett, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority.

The display, made from 3,723 marshmallow PEEPS®, achieves the candy company’s objective of re-invigorating their presence at the Airport. The Goofy sculpture was the grand prize winner from the Carroll County Arts Council’s PEEPShow.

“Every year we look forward to seeing the creative out-of-the-box sculptures our fans submit to the Carroll County Arts PEEPShow using our iconic marshmallow PEEPS®,” said Matt Pye, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Just Born Quality Confections. “We are happy to share the life-sized Goofy sculpture with families traveling to and from the Lehigh Valley International Airport and hope it will bring smiles to their faces!”
