Charles R. Everett Jr. Announces Candidacy for Man & Woman of the Year

Lehigh Valley, PA (April 11, 2017) – Lehigh-Northampton Airport  Authority Executive Director Charles R. Everett Jr. of Easton has announced his candidacy for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2017 Man & Woman of the Year (MWOY) fundraising competition.

Everett will be utilizing his leadership and fundraising skills during the 10-week campaign that kicked off on March 24. Every dollar he raises counts as one vote. The male and female candidates with the most votes are named the Chapter’s Man & Woman of the Year. Their totals are then considered in naming national titles.

Money raised from Man & Woman of the Year will benefit LLS’s mission to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. To date, LLS has invested over $1 billion in research to advance breakthrough therapies that are saving lives today.

“We are grateful for the support of Charles as he sets out on an amazing journey to raise money for lifesaving cancer research,” said Ellen Rubesin, Executive Director of the Eastern PA Chapter.

Winners will be announced at the Grand Finale at DeSales University on June 6. The night will be a celebration of all the candidates’ collective efforts as they enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions, and dinner and dancing.

In his free time, Charles likes to read and travel.  When he became aware of the programs, initiatives and contributions of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, he decided to become a part of this year’s campaign.
