June Jump in Passenger Traffic at ABE

18.9 percent increase from previous year

Anticipating a surge in passenger traffic due to the arrival of the summer travel season, Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) marked a ninth consecutive month of positive passenger growth dating back to October 2017. 

Last month, 72,600 passengers traveled through ABE – that is an 18.9 percent increase from June 2017.

“Halfway through the year, our numbers have been strong and with the busy summer travel season upon us, the Airport is committed to ensuring passengers enjoy the highest level of customer service when they choose ABE,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA).

By the numbers, American reported a total passenger increase of 33%, followed by Allegiant at 17%, Delta posting 12% growth, and United up 9%.

“This upward trend of passenger traffic received another positive boost from legacy carriers American, Delta and United, while Allegiant continues its high performance as the market leader in leisure travel,” said Stoudt.
