The busiest travel season of the year had Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) jammin’ in July with passenger traffic, marking a tenth consecutive month of positive growth dating back to October 2017.

“It’s that time of the year for summer fun and family vacations which certainly contributes to the jump in passengers traveling through ABE,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA).

Serving five non-stop destinations from the Lehigh Valley (Orlando/Sanford, Fort Lauderdale, Myrtle Beach, Punta Gorda and Tampa/St. Petersburg), Allegiant reported its highest monthly traffic in history at ABE – 30,436.

By the numbers, American reported a total passenger increase of 56.8%, followed by United up 20%, Allegiant posting 11.6% growth, and Delta up 9.3%

“In recent months, we’ve had more available seats in the market due to increased flight schedules and larger aircraft serving our markets.  With air travelers in the region choosing the high level of customer service and convenience provided at ABE, those seats have been filled which continues to be a very positive trend for all of our air carriers,” said Stoudt.
