Environmental Assessment for Land Release made Available for Public Review

ALLENTOWN, PA – The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) has prepared a Draft Final Environmental Assessment for land release.

The land release encompasses approximately 297 acres of Airport property located north of the Lehigh Valley International Airport along Willowbrook Rd. in Allen Township, PA. The Airport land is being released for the development of a regional ground transportation distribution hub for FedEx Ground, Inc.

The Environmental Assessment is required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) prior to the land release.

The report is available for review to enable residents and other interested parties to gain an understanding of the project, receive information and provide comments on the proposed action.

“We have conducted a detailed review of the proposed action and are now prepared to move forward with the process”, said Executive Director, Charles Everett.

Copies of the draft document are available for review starting on Friday May 22, 2015 at the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority offices, located on the third floor of the terminal building at Lehigh Valley International Airport, 3311 Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109. The document will also be available through the Authority’s website at www.flyabe.com, under the Stay Connected tab.

The public review period will remain open until June 22, 2015. Comments or inquiries regarding the document can be mailed to the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority, Attn. Mr. Ryan Meyer, 3311 Airport Road, Allentown, Pennsylvania 18109 or can be submitted on the LNAA website.
