Construction Project at Main Terminal Through the Holiday Season

November 15th, 2017 |

Lower Level lane closure expected periodically

(Hanover Township, PA) – Passengers traveling via ground transportation can expect minor traffic delays and congestion at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) through the holiday season.

A two-month construction project is underway to rehabilitate the pedestrian tunnel on the arrivals (lower) roadway that connects the main parking lot to the terminal.   In addition, minor repairs are also being performed on the three (3) main terminal vestibules located along the departures (upper) roadway.

Impacts to ground transportation will be closely monitored and any necessary changes to the work schedule will be implemented to reduce the impact on passengers. “We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience caused by this necessary construction project and appreciate your patience,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Interim Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority.

The LNAA Police Department will be on-site to help with traffic flow during times of peak traffic, but passengers are reminded that vehicles are not permitted to idle in the pick-up / drop-off area outside of the Main Terminal.  The existing cell-phone or short-term parking lots are also available to vehicles that may be waiting for passengers.
