2026 Media Policy

Below please find information on our various media policies.

Meetings of the Board of Governors

The LNAA Director of Public and Government Relations shall serve as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for all Committee and Board of Governors meetings.

  • The PIO will assign designated seating for media in the Board Room, located on the second level of the Main Terminal.
  • All media interviews will take place immediately following Committee or monthly Board meetings.
  • Media will be escorted to the Earhart Room (adjacent to the Board Room) for interviews with requested LNAA leadership or Board members.
  • Media must notify the PIO in advance if an interview is requested.  Requests will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Media must also provide the PIO with interview topics in advance.
  • In the event of an executive session, no media interviews will be conducted prior to the session.

Public Information Department

Purpose

This policy establishes procedures governing media access to facilities operated by the LNAA, including:

  • Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE)
  • Queen City Municipal Airport (XLL)
  • Braden Airpark (N43)

Policy

This policy applies to all media access and activity at LNAA-operated airports.

  • Office hours for the Director of Public and Government Relations are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • The PIO will respond to media inquiries as availability permits.

    Distribution

    This policy is distributed to:

    • All LNAA departments
    • Airlines, tenants, and concessions
    • U.S. Customs
    • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
    • Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
    • Contractors

    Media Relations and Communications

    • The PIO is on call 24/7 and can be reached after hours, weekends, and holidays at (484) 707-1358.
    • The Airport Communications Center will contact the PIO during emergencies using the same number.
    • The PIO will notify media in advance of LNAA-related news, including:
      • Press conferences
      • Public hearings
      • Community programs
      • Air service announcements

    Notifications may be distributed via:

    • Email
    • Telephone
    • Press releases
    • Media advisories
    • Social media

    Authorized Spokespersons

    In accordance with Resolution #5058, the following individuals are authorized to communicate on behalf of the LNAA with third parties:

    • Chair of the Board of Governors
    • Executive Director (or designee)
    • Public Information Officer

    Media Access

    • All media must contact the PIO prior to arriving at any LNAA airport for the purpose of gathering print, video, or electronic media.
    • Media personnel conducting interviews must:
      • Wear visible press credentials
      • Clearly label all equipment

    Live Broadcasts

    • LNAA has designated areas where live broadcast equipment may be set up and operated.
    • Cables and wires:
      • Must not cross public walkways or doorways
      • Must not be suspended between levels of terminal buildings

    Leased Spaces

    Media access to leased spaces (airlines, concessions, tenants) requires approval from both:

    • LNAA
    • The respective tenant

    The PIO will make reasonable efforts to obtain required permissions.

    Security Screening Areas

    • Security checkpoints are operated by the TSA.
    • Media access to screening areas, equipment, or TSA personnel requires prior approval from TSA Public Affairs, coordinated through the PIO.

    Emergency Response

    • During emergencies, the PIO will escort media to designated staging areas as outlined in the Airport Crisis Communications Plan.
    • Media must contact the PIO prior to arrival whenever possible.
    • Upon arrival, media must check in with the PIO unless otherwise directed.
    • LNAA reserves the right to restrict or deny media access in the interest of safety and security.

    Air Operations Area (AOA) Access

    • In accordance with federal law, media must be escorted at all times while in the Air Operations Area (AOA) by authorized airport personnel.
    • Violations may result in:
      • Removal from the premises
      • Law enforcement action, including arrest and prosecution

    LNAA reserves the right to restrict media access anywhere on Authority property to ensure public safety and security.
