Highest passenger traffic on record for June
(Hanover Township, PA) – Predictions of a surge in summer travel at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) have been confirmed with the highest passenger traffic level on record for June.
Last month, 98,589 passengers used ABE – a 17.1% increase from June 2023.
“There’s been a noticeable jump in activity within the facility as the summer vacation season is in full swing. The record number of travelers reflects the growth of leisure destinations and excellent connectivity when choosing ABE. We appreciate the Airport staff and stakeholders that continue doing a fantastic job delivering first class customer service,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA).

By the numbers, American jumped 37.3%, Allegiant is up 22.7%, and Delta slightly increased by 1.7%. United decreased 15.6% from last June.
Here are some travel tips to remember:
- Give yourself extra time to process through the TSA Checkpoint
- Visit TSA.gov or @askTSA with any general questions or to arrange travel with special circumstances
- If you are traveling with children, double-check their carry-on bags to ensure there aren’t any prohibited items
- Passengers under the age of 18 years-old do not need travel identification if accompanied by a companion
- Boarding begins 30 to 45-minutes prior to departure
- Checked bags will not be accepted less than 30-minutes before departure
18,759,997 pounds of air cargo was processed through Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) in June – a decrease of 14.6% from June 2023.
