The Junior Navigators Volunteer Program is designated for high school students (15-18 years old) looking to gain community service hours. Volunteers will provide information and assistance to passengers, visitors and members of the general public at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE).
Duties
- Be sincere in the offer of service and take commitment seriously
- Be friendly and courteous, and display a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in uniform
- Meet and greet passengers and stand in key locations so the public may easily approach you for directions or assistance
- Answer telephone inquiries and questions from the general public
- Address feedback (i.e. compliments, suggestions and complaints) by notifying the coordinator
- Fill brochure racks and keep inventory of magazines
- Keep Main Terminal clean and tidy by picking up trash, pushing wheelchairs and luggage carts back into their stations
- Assist coordinator with internal events at the airport
Requirements
- Volunteer a minimum of two (2) hours every week and keep an accurate record of hours
- Work and participate in training programs and meetings, relevant to the volunteer program
- Be between the ages of 15 years and 18 years and provide photo ID (student ID or driver’s license)
- Provide own transportation to/from airport
- Be reliable and prompt
- When unable to fulfill duties, volunteer will notify the coordinator as early as possible
- Be friendly and courteous, and display a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in uniform
- Strictly adhere to security regulations and abide by policies of the Authority
- Must successfully complete interview and training to receive a Volunteer Program Badge
