Lehigh Valley International Airport unveils new recycling containers on America Recycles Day

Allentown, PALehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) is committed to increase attention to the responsibility of protecting and cleaning-up the environment. The Airport Authority will kick-off the “Recycling is Responsible” Program today by unveiling brand new recycling receptacles and provide additional disposal areas throughout the Main Terminal, Wiley Terminal, TSA and Baggage Claim.

“While the idea of recycling isn’t new to our airports – LVIA, Queen City and Braden Airpark – we have been working to identify ways to make this process easier and more convenient for passengers and other users,” said Charles Everett, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority. In recent months, recycling receptacles were upgraded and re-distributed to employees, tenants and stakeholders, while adding more recycling dumpsters at facilities operated by LNAA.

Here is a list of recyclable items: Flattened Cardboard   Magazines   Office Paper   Plastic Bottles   Glass Bottles   Aluminum Cans. Brown Paper Bags   Newspapers   Junk Mail   Paperboard   Steel Cans / Empty Aerosol Cans

“Don’t throw items that can be recycled in the terminal trash can, instead we are asking passengers to take the extra step and recycle,” said Everett.

America Recycles Day is celebrated on November 15, to raise awareness about recycling, educate on the benefits of recycling and encourage the purchase of products made from recycled materials.
